presents

Bayfield Reads 2010

Date: Sunday, March 7, 2010
Time: 2 pm
Location: Bayfield Town Hall

Tickets: $5 each, available at The Village Bookshop or at the door. Refreshments will be served.

Bayfield Reads is held just prior to CBC radio's week-long Canada Reads competition, featured on "Q" with Jian Ghomeshi. Five passionate readers from Huron and Perth Counties will each defend one of the 2010 Canada Reads titles, in an attempt to convince the audience that his or her choice is the book that every Canadian should read this year. Following the presentations, the audience will vote, refreshments will be served and a winner will be announced. Our votes will be forwarded to CBC and added to the nation-wide tally.

This year, the books will be defended by the following local readers:

Nancy Barrett: The Jade Peony by Wayson Choy
Darren Erb: Generation X by Douglas Coupland
Brett Kelly: Fall on Your Knees by Ann Marie MacDonald
Jane Rowat: Nikolski by Nicolas Dickner
John McCarroll: Good to a Fault by Marina Endicott

More information about Canada Reads is available at http://www.cbc.ca/books/canadareads/

To reserve your tickets for Bayfield Reads 2010, please email or call the Bookshop at 519-565-5600.
