Meet The Village Bookshop’s New Owner
Greetings to the
loyal fans of The Village Bookshop! My name is Mary Brown, and as most of
you know, I am the proud new owner of your favourite bookstore. I have been
overwhelmed by the warm welcome I’ve received—thank you to all who have
taken the time to email, call or drop in.
A little about
myself. I was a teacher and principal with the Huron Perth Catholic District
School Board for 23 years. I am currently a part-time instructor and Faculty
Advisor at Nipissing University’s Faculty of Education, Brantford campus. My
husband Dennis and I are the proud parents of three adult children. For this
lifelong avid reader, owning a bookstore is a dream realized!
If you were to ask us
how we met, Mary Wolfe and I would agree that Fate took a hand in bringing
us together. From the beginning, we felt that this was a perfect fit. Mary
has been a wonderful mentor and friend as we have worked through this
transition period. I know you join me in wishing her every success in her
future endeavors.
It is my intent to
continue the wonderful events and programs that make The Village Bookshop
special. A list of what’s in the works for 2010 can be found in this edition
of The Page Turner.
I look forward to
meeting many of you in the months ahead. Thank you for continued support of
The Village Bookshop.
