The fictional book Artemis Fowl written by Eoin Colfer is the fourth book in the series and is full of exciting and magical scenes and mythical creatures like trolls, centaurs, pixies, fairies and elves. The book has several main characters such as Mulch Diggums, the thieving, tunneling dwarf, Scant and Merve Brill, the pixie twins who are henchmen for Opal Koboi (a pixie mastermind of evil), Foaly the centaur LEP (Lower Elements Police), technicians officer, Holly Short the LEP top officer, and Butler, an overly huge body guard for the notorious Artemis Fowl.

This book takes place in several different locations like Munich, Germany, as well as Sicily and Scotland. Most of the action takes place in the Lower Elements because Artemis and Holly are down there trying to stop Opal. The main plot in the story involves the evil Opal Kaboi , who has escaped from prison and is out to kill everyone that helped her get thrown in prison. But Opal`s master plan is to get the humans to discover the fairies' underground world and make the humans obliterate the fairies by supplying the humans with the proper weapons. I enjoyed this book a lot because it kept me on my toes all the time by jumping to a different character for each chapter before getting back to where you were. I would rank this book ten out of ten, and I would recommend this book to older youth that are into magic and make believe.
