I will be reviewing the book Chasing Vermeer by Blue Balliett. One night in Chicago three people receive a letter asking them to help identify a century old code. In a town near Chicago(Hyde Park) a sixth grade class is admiring their teacher Ms. Hussey. When strange things start to happen and little details start to connect Calder and Petra the outcasts of the class band together to help solve the mystery of the a stolen painting, a missing child and a century old lady. Filled with universities, pentominoes and M&M's this book is perfect for kids ages 9 – 12 who like solving puzzles. I like the After Words by Leslis Budnick because it tells you how to make your own pentominoes. Sometimes this book gets a little dull; I don't suggest it for impatient people. Rating nine out of ten stars.
P.S. There is a message hidden in the pictures can you solve it?
