The book I am writing my review on is The Fire Within by Chris D'Lacey. For this book you need to find mythical creatures interesting. You also need to have some patience, too. One good thing about this book is the way the author writes; I find she writes with skill. I also enjoy how she gets you so excited for the climax. Some negative things are that it takes too long to get to the climax. I also don't like the dying part...you'll know if you read it.

I would give this book about 7 out of 10. I personally think that the age group for this three-book series would be 10 to 12.

The main plot is that a new tenant moves in to Liz and Lucy's house. David is the tenant's name. He goes to college in the city right beside the town. Liz and Lucy have a dangerous secret; David tries to find it out. Canoocer is a squirrel that they try to revive. Will David save Canoocer and solve the secret, or will he plunge to his fiery death?
